About Medblocks
Medblocks is building a developer-focused “stack for healthcare” that makes it possible for anyone to build applications that integrate directly with clinical workflows without rebuilding expensive Electronic Medical Records systems. We believe code has the potential to save more lives than doctors can by themselves.
Founded by doctors-turned-programmers, our team leverages open, vendor-neutral standards like openEHR, FHIR, SMART, and SNOMED CT to create a platform that makes healthcare data accessible, interoperable, and useful.
Our Culture
We’re a team that values deep work, clear communication, and continuous learning. We’re building technology that matters, and we’re looking for individuals who want their code to make a difference in healthcare.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Technical Content Writer who can make complex software and healthcare data concepts genuinely interesting and accessible. You’ll own two of our most important content surfaces: YouTube video scripts and long-form blog articles. You don’t need a Health IT background - but you do need a software development foundation strong enough to pick up new technical concepts quickly, ask good questions, and write about them with confidence.
This is a creative and research-heavy role. You’ll work closely with our engineering and product teams to extract knowledge, shape narratives, and produce content that serves both developers discovering Medblocks, practitioners deepening their understanding of Health IT standards, and Health IT Decision makers looking for a solution to their problems.
Responsibilities
- Write scripts for YouTube videos - from concept explainers and tutorials to product demos and thought leadership pieces
- Research and write long-form technical blog articles covering topics like FHIR, openEHR, EHR integration, clinical data modeling, etc.
- Work with Developers at Medblocks to extract knowledge and translate it into clear, engaging narratives
- Work with our team to maintain a consistent publishing cadence across video and blog
- Optimize content for discoverability - understanding what developers search for and how to write for that audience
- Occasionally contribute to lesson articles for our courses and bootcamps
- Refine and iterate on content based on performance data and audience feedback
Requirements
- A background in software development - you don’t need to be currently writing code, but you should be comfortable reading it, understanding architecture diagrams, and picking up new technical domains
- Strong writing skills - clear, structured, and able to adapt tone for different formats (conversational scripts vs. in-depth articles)
- Intellectual curiosity - genuine interest in learning how things work and explaining them well
- Research skills - ability to self-study new topics, find credible sources, and synthesize information effectively
- Familiarity with developer content - blogs, documentation, or technical YouTube channels you admire and can reference
- Comfort working in a small, fast-moving team where you’ll have significant ownership
Nice to Have
- Prior experience writing developer-focused content, technical blogs, or video scripts
- Exposure to healthcare IT, health data standards (FHIR, HL7, openEHR), or adjacent domains
- Experience working with or around clinical systems, hospital software, or medical informatics
- Familiarity with SEO basics and content performance metrics
- A portfolio of published articles, scripts, or educational content
